Add an Auto discovery and model data source
Use Auto discovery and model data source to discover all known devices and automatically create models based on the devices that are discovered.
User is provided with a list of known device types (based on profiles) where they can select one or more known device types.
The Auto discovery and model data source is compatible with the EtherNet/IP (CIP) driver.
To add an Auto discovery and model data source
- SelectData Flow>Data Sources, and then fromConfigure Data Sources, add a data source.
- To add the first data source, selectAdd Data Sources.
- To add a subsequent data source, selectAdd
.
- Enter theName.
- The name must contain only letters, numbers, and hyphens.
- FromTags and types defined in (data browse path type),selectAuto discovery and model.
- FromDriver for browsing,select theEtherNet/IP (CIP) driver.
- Select theDetection type:
- Smart detection:Automatically detect all known devices and create models.
- Manual configure detection:Enter a single IP address or ranges of IP addresses to manually search the devices and selectAdd. TIP:
If the device with the provided IP/IP range is not in the network, an empty model will be created.
- (optional) To generate the namespace, selectAuto-populate namespace.
- Select one or more devices from theSystem known supported deviceslist.
- SelectSaveto add the data source.
