Add data sources from
Studio 5000 Logix Designer
controllers via EtherNet/IP to populate a namespace and collect data from data tags.
FactoryTalk Edge Gateway
is compatible with
Studio 5000 Logix Designer
firmware revisions 16.00 or later.
The
Studio 5000 Logix Designer
Controller via EtherNet/IP data source is compatible with the EtherNet/IP (CIP) driver.
To add a data source from a
Studio 5000 Logix Designer
Controller via EtherNet/IP
  1. Select
    Data Flow > Data Sources
    , and from
    Configure Data Sources
    , add a data source.
    • To add the first data source, select
      Add Data Sources
      .
    • To add a subsequent data source, select
      Add
      .
  2. Enter the name and then from
    Data Browse Path Type
    , select
    Logix Controller via EtherNet/IP
    .
    The name must contain only letters, numbers, and hyphens.
  3. From
    Driver for browsing
    , select the EtherNet/IP (CIP) driver.
  4. Enter the browse path.
    TIP:
    For example, use 192.168.1.20/1:3 (IP/Backplane:Slot).
  5. (optional) To generate the namespace, select
    Auto-populate namespace
    .
  6. Perform one of these actions:
    • Select
      Use browse path for data collection
      .
    • From
      Driver for Collection,
      select the EtherNet/IP (CIP) driver for the data collection path and then enter the collection path.
  7. Select
    Save
    to add the data source.
