FactoryTalk® AssetCentre
Web Client is a web application that provides access to the FactoryTalk AssetCentre system from a web browser. You can scale displays as needed. The web client supports several FactoryTalk AssetCentre desktop client functions, including:
  • Shows the asset tree and archive workspace that provides version control of program files and documents archive. FactoryTalk AssetCentre web client also supports the Management of Change workflow.
    FactoryTalk AssetCentre web client uses the same database as the FactoryTalk AssetCentre desktop client. When there are changes in the FactoryTalk AssetCentre desktop client, notifications show on the webpage.
    You must refresh the webpage manually to sync the changes in the asset tree.
  • Monitors FactoryTalk-enabled software products and records system events in the Event log and user actions in the Audit log.
  • Provides disaster recovery and device monitor schedules to verify your devices' program and configuration files against protected master files, aiding in file recovery.
    Use
    Schedules
    to view the schedule information, create, delete, filter, and sort a schedule, edit schedule properties, run a schedule created in the FactoryTalk AssetCentre desktop client, and stop an inactive running schedule.
  • Monitors security-related configurations of
    Allen-Bradley®
    Logix 5000
    controllers, enabling quick identification of controllers that do not meet the desired security configurations.

    to create security posture check schedules for Allen-Bradley Logix 5000 Controller assets.
  • View the results of scheduled active network scans that show
    Rockwell Automation®
    and non-Rockwell Automation devices. Review Rockwell Automation hardware device lifecycle and firmware lifecycle status and information.

    to decide which device needs upgrade or replacement and view the most current firmware revision available for your device.
  • Finds records in FactoryTalk AssetCentre tables, including:
    • Events
    • Audits
    • Diagnostics and Health
    • Archive History
    • Archive Check In and Check Out Status
    • Asset Extended Property
    Use
    Searches
    to view scheduled or unscheduled searches, create, edit, delete, run, filter, activate, deactivate, sort, or stop a search, view search results, or view properties of an existing search.
  • Provides enhanced control and management capabilities. The
    Tools
    include:
    • Views and monitors database related settings to manage your database.
      Use
      Database Management
      to view the database information, specify the settings of database limitations, database monitoring and maintenance, create a log cleanup schedule, and create an archive cleanup schedule.
    • Configures overall communication settings for change detect schedules.
      Use
      Change Detect
      to configure the communication settings between FactoryTalk AssetCentre agent and controllers when performing a change detect task, including the number of concurrent monitoring tasks and the packet size used to read the controller logs when changes are detected.
    • Updates device lifecycle information when the FactoryTalk AssetCentre server lacks internet access and cannot connect to the Product Compatibility and Download Center (PCDC).
      Use

      to export a device list and import the updated device list back to keep your device information current.
Before using FactoryTalk AssetCentre Web Client, we recommend that you:
  • Allow the pop-ups and redirects for all sites in browsers. Do the following for each browser:

    TIP:
    FQDN
    is the fully qualified domain name of the FactoryTalk AssetCentre Server computer.
  • Use Microsoft Edge v104 or later, Google Chrome v104 and later, and Mozilla Firefox v101 and later to avoid JSON processing and hijacking attack.
Download files of FactoryTalk AssetCentre web client is saved to C:\Users\<Signed-in User>\Downloads on your computer by default. You can customize the download path in browsers.
