What is the FactoryTalk AssetCentre Web Client?
The FactoryTalk AssetCentre Web Client is a read-only view of the FactoryTalk AssetCentre system using an internet browser. It allows you to manage your automation assets in real-time, and helps you track (audit) and report asset information on the go. This feature allows you to view the Asset Tree with Archive History, Schedules and Searches, Logs with respective attachments, and Agent Groups.
Can I make changes to my system using the web client, such as editing the Asset Tree?
The web client provides the ability to view logs, perform archive check in, check out, and get, administrate disaster recovery schedules, and view lifecycle information about devices. The web client does not currently offer the ability to manage the Asset Tree.
How do I connect to the web client?
Direct the browser of the computer to: http://<FQDN>/RockwellSoftware/AssetCentreWebClient
TIP:
FQDN is the fully qualified domain name of the FactoryTalk AssetCentre server computer.
If you changed the default port in site binding, you need to include the self-defined port number in the computer name part in the form as MYSERVER:PortNumber.
Which mobile devices can I use to access the web client?
FactoryTalk AssetCentre web client is designed for Windows devices, such as workstation and laptops. The web client is not designed for use with mobile devices or other tablets.

Do I need to install more than a browser on my computer?
No.
What is the maximum number of web client connections?
A maximum of 90 concurrent connections is recommended depending on the server machine performance.
Can I connect via Wi-Fi or LTE from my computer when using the web client?
The user can connect via wired or wireless (Wi-Fi) only to the same LAN (Local Area Network) as the FactoryTalk AssetCentre server. As long as the computer has a VPN connection to the on-site network, the web client would work remotely over an LTE connection.

Does the web client support SSL (HTTPS)?

Do I need to sign in when using the web client?
Yes. The user must sign in when using the web client from any device to authenticate the user for security purposes. The user must sign in to each tab when using multiple web client windows. Only members of the FactoryTalk Network Directory have access to the web client.
Does the web client follow the same security settings as defined in the FactoryTalk AssetCentre server?
Yes. The FactoryTalk AssetCentre server will pass all the security settings to the web client.
Do I need a license for the web client?
No. The web client is a tool that is part of the FactoryTalk AssetCentre server installation.

Can schedules be run using the web client?
Yes. The web client allows the user to create, edit, delete, activate or deactivate, run, stop, filter, and sort schedules. It should be noted that some scheduled task’s properties cannot be edited.
Can searches be run using the web client?
Yes. The web client allows the user to view scheduled or unscheduled searches, create, edit, delete, run, filter, activate, deactivate, sort, and stop searches. After a search completion, it will generate a report.
Can attachments be viewed from the web client?
No. Attachments are downloaded, and then opened on the hosting computer.
Can I see detailed information on an asset's last disaster recovery task? For example, error messages, changes found, reports, and so on.
Yes. The user can navigate to the Logs view and review any additional details for the asset in question.
What is the maximum number of logs that can be displayed at once on the logs tab?
Differing from the FactoryTalk AssetCentre desktop client, the web client shows the most current 2500 records from the database.

Normal
