Options dialog box: File Associations

How do I open the Options: File Associations dialog box?
  1. Select
    Tools > Options
    .
  2. Under
    Category
    on the left side of the dialog box, select
    File Associations
    .
Use the
Options: File Associations
 dialog box to have a designated software product open files with a specific extension. If there are no personal or system file associations configured to open files with a specific extension, FactoryTalk AssetCentre will attempt to open files using Microsoft Windows' default file associations.
To perform any of the actions below you must have
Configure Personal Archive File Associations
 or
Configure System Archive File Associations
permission.
  • Add a file association
    On the
    Personal Associations
     or
    System Associations
     tab, click
    New
    , complete the
    File Association
     dialog box, and click
    OK
    .
  • Edit a file association
    On the
    Personal Associations
     or
    System Associations
     tab, select a file type, click
    Edit
    , complete the
    File Association
     dialog box, and click
    OK
    .
  • Remove a file association
    On the
    Personal Associations
     or
    System Associations
    tab, select the association and then click
    Delete
    . When the "Are you sure you want to delete the file association for extension .XXX" message appears, click
    Yes
    .
