File Association dialog box

How do I open the File Association dialog box?
  1. Select
    Tools > Options
    .
  2. In the
    Options
    dialog box under
    Category
    on the left, select
    File Associations
    .
  3. Click the
    Personal Associations
    tab or the
    System Associations
    tab, and then:
    • Click
      New.
    • Or, select a file extension in the list and click
      Edit
      .
Use the
File Association
dialog box to manage file associations that determine which software product opens a particular file type.
With the
File Association
dialog box, you can specify the following configurations:
  • File extension to be opened by the designated software product
  • The software product to open files with the indicated extension
  • Command line arguments for the software product used to open files
  • The name of the software
  • If files of this type is automatically checked in when the editing program is closed.
  • Monitor type
