Options dialog box: Custom Devices

How do I open the Options: Custom Devices dialog box?
  1. Select
    Tools > Options
    .
  2. Under
    Category
on the left side of the dialog box, select
    Custom Devices
    .
Use the
Options: Custom Devices
dialog box to specify the configurations of custom devices, including:
  • Add a custom device configuration
  • Duplicate a custom device configuration
  • Delete a custom device configuration
  • Export a custom device configuration as a *.cdc file
  • Import a configuration file (*.cdc) of a custom device
These settings are associated with the FactoryTalk AssetCentre server, so when you set this up on one client computer, it is available to all clients connected to that server. The system updates other client computers once a day, so other users may not see your changes immediately. (They can force an update by opening this dialog box.)
If two users set or change configuration of a particular custom device simultaneously, the last (most recent) configuration is kept. That is, only the changes of the last user to click
OK
are stored.
TIP:
FactoryTalk AssetCentre version 13.00.00 changes the Windows service logon from Local System to Network Service. To allow Network Service to access the user specified folder, copy the custom device project to C:\Users\Public\RockwellSoftware\AssetCentre. For more information, see Items in Options dialog box: Custom Devices and Items in Add Custom Device dialog box.
