Items in Options dialog box: Custom Devices
Items in the dialog box include:
Click to add a new custom device configuration to the list.
Click to duplicate the selected custom device configuration.
Click to remove the selected custom device configuration from the list.
Click to export the configuration(s) of custom device(s) to a configuration file (*.cdc), so that the configuration(s) can be imported to another FactoryTalk AssetCentre server system.Use theSelect Device Configurationdialog box to specify the configuration(s) of custom device(s) to be exported. You can use Shift-click and Ctrl-click to select multiple custom devices. ClickOK.Use theSave Asdialog box to provide a file name and location for the exported list.
Click to import a configuration file (*.cdc) of custom device(s). Use theOpendialog box to navigate to and select a configuration file to import.TIP:If an existing custom device configuration has an exact duplicate in the selected configuration file, that duplicate cannot be imported.- Tabs underneath the buttonsList custom devices that have been added and configured.
After you add a new custom device configuration or import a configuration file, the custom device configuration field shows. Items in this field include:
- DescriptionType the name of the custom device configuration. Once configured, this name shows in the left pane of theCustom Devicesdialog box.
- Backup Configuration
- CommandSpecify the application to run backup operations for custom devices.Make sure that the folder location forProgramis C:\Users\Public\RockwellSoftware\AssetCentre.
- Arguments (<ARG>)Configure the Arguments (<ARG>) for backup operations.Make sure that the folder or file location forArguments (<ARG>)is C:\Users\Public\RockwellSoftware\AssetCentre.
- Delay (seconds)Specify an integer from 0 through 3600 as a maximum time duration in seconds for which a backup operation is completed. If an operation exceeds the configured time, it will be forcibly ended and the schedule will proceed. The default setting is 180 (seconds), and an entry of 0 seconds indicates that the FactoryTalk AssetCentre agent will not proceed until the command completes.
- Backup LocationSpecify the location on your hard drive to store the backup files of custom devices.Make sure that the folder location forBackup Locationis C:\Users\Public\RockwellSoftware\AssetCentre.
- Success Return CodeEnter one or multiple integers that are defined as success exit codes in the application script. Only if FactoryTalk AssetCentre receives these codes, it means the backup schedule task performed by the application successfully completed. If not, it means the task failed.Leaving this field blank will always mean the task successfully completed. The information that a schedule succeeded or failed will be recorded in the event log. Use comma but without space to separate multiple integers.
- Compare Configuration
- CommandSpecify the application to perform compare operations for custom devices.Make sure that the folder location forProgramis C:\Users\Public\RockwellSoftware\AssetCentre.
- Arguments (<ARG>)Configure the Arguments (<ARG>) for compare operations.Make sure that the folder or file location forArguments (<ARG>)is C:\Users\Public\RockwellSoftware\AssetCentre.
