Migrate RSSecurity to FactoryTalk Security

Back up the existing RSSecurity database.

Run

FactoryTalk® Administration Console

and back up your existing

FactoryTalk® Directory

and System folder.

(optional) If the current system uses

FactoryTalk® Automation Platform

2.00, update the

FactoryTalk Directory

with a new set of actions for

Logix Designer

application.

FactoryTalk® Services Platform

2.10 (CPR 9) or later automatically contains these new actions.

Use

FactoryTalk Security

Import

to import an RSSecurity database into the

FactoryTalk Directory

.

If all of the computers on your network have been upgraded to

FactoryTalk Services Platform

2.10 (CPR 9) or later, the import retains the original action groups and specifies resource grouping during migration.

(optional) Install the

RSSecurity Emulator

to allow

FactoryTalk Directory

to emulate an RSSecurity Server. This allows existing RSSecurity clients, for example, the

RSLogix™

family of software to connect to

FactoryTalk Directory

.

Use either

FactoryTalk® Administration Console

or

FactoryTalk View Studio

to view and edit resources.
