How do I open
FactoryTalk Security
 Resource Group Import?
To open
FactoryTalk Security
 Resource Group Import:
  1. Select
    Start > All Programs > Rockwell Software > FactoryTalk Tools > Import RSSecurity Configuration
    .
  2. Complete the
    Import an RSSecurity database
     dialog box.
  3. Complete the
    RSSecurity Migration Utility
     dialog box, and then click
    Next
    .
Use
FactoryTalk Security
 Resource Group Import
 to import a resource group into a
FactoryTalk Directory
 as either individual resources or grouped under either an application or area.
To associate a group of resources with an application or area
  • Right-click the resource group name, select
    Add Group to Area
    , and then navigate to the application or area. You cannot select the Network or Local directory object -- the highest object in the tree.
To import resources as individual items
  • Leave the
    Application
     or
    Area
     column blank, and then select
    OK
    . Imported resources appear in the
    Networks and Devices
     folder of the
    FactoryTalk Directory
    .
To remove a set of resources from a particular area of the FactoryTalk Directory
  • Right-click the resource group name and then select
    Remove group from area
    .
    TIP:
    Importing new
    Logix Designer
     application resources into a
    FactoryTalk Directory
     adds a set of securable actions to the Networks and Devices folder. The security settings associated with these actions affect the default security settings applied to any new
    RSLogix 5000
     device added to the
    FactoryTalk
     system. Verify the security settings of any new
    RSLogix 5000
     device before deploying it in a production system.
