How do I open
FactoryTalk Security
Import?
To open
FactoryTalk Security
Import:
  • Click
    Start > All Programs > Rockwell Software > FactoryTalk Tools > Import RSSecurity Configuration
    .
Use the
FactoryTalk Security
Import dialog
box to import an RSSecurity Server database into either a
FactoryTalk
Local Directory or a Network Directory.
TIP:
If you are using
FactoryTalk Automation Platform
2.00, update the
FactoryTalk Directory
with new
Logix Designer
application actions before continuing.
Select RSSecurity Server backup database to import
  • Select
    Browse
    , select an RSSecurity Server backup database file, and then select
    Open
    .
    An RSSecurity Server backup database file has the file extension .bak.
Destination directory
Specify the
FactoryTalk Directory
where the RSSecurity Server database should be imported:
  • Default.
    Automatically imports an RSSecurity Local Edition database into the
    FactoryTalk
    Local Directory or an RSSecurity Network Edition database into the
    FactoryTalk
    Network Directory.
  • Local.
    Imports the RSSecurity Server database into the
    FactoryTalk
    Local Directory on this computer.
  • Network
    . Imports the RSSecurity Server database into the
    FactoryTalk
    Network Directory
    .
Add implicitly grant access
To grant all users security access to actions and resources being imported wherever permissions are not specified in the RSSecurity Server database, select the
Add implicitly grant access
check box. To deny security access wherever permissions are not specified, clear the check box.
Display log on completion
To display the log file when the import is complete, select the
Display log on completion
check box. To save the log file when the import is complete without displaying it, clear the check box.
