Change the definition of an Add-On Graphic
Every instance of an Add-On Graphic is linked to the definition of the Add-On Graphic in the
Project Explorer
. Changing the definition of an Add-On Graphic changes every instance of the Add-On Graphic in a project. To change the definition of an Add-On Graphic, change the following: - Content.Add, remove, move or resize graphic elements in the Add-On Graphic.
- Property values.Change the property values in thePropertieswindow for the Add-On Graphic, or change property values for a graphic element in the Add-On Graphic.
- User-defined properties.Change user-defined properties in theProperty Definitiontab of the Add-On Graphic.
- Behavior.Add animations and events to graphic elements in an Add-On Graphic.TIP:Tips:
- The only way to resize the definition of an Add-On Graphic is to add, remove, or move graphic elements within the definition.
- Changing the size of the definition of an Add-On Graphic by changing content within the definition changes does not affect the size of any instances of the Add-On Graphic.
- Resizing graphic elements in the definition of an Add-On Graphic changes the size of the background of the Add-On Graphic. The graphic elements in the definition of the Add-On Graphic scale in each instance of the Add-On Graphic in the project.
- Change user-defined properties for an instance of an Add-On Graphic.
- Add animations and events to an instance of an Add-On Graphic, or a graphic element within an Add-On Graphic. Adding animations and events to an Add-On Graphic itself is not allowed.
- Changes to the definition of an Add-On Graphic appear in a previously deleted instance of the Add-On Graphic if you delete an instance, change the definition, and then undelete the instance. For example, any changes to the content, an alias, a binding, or a value appear in the undeleted instance of the Add-On Graphic.
