Copy a graphic element
Copy a graphic element to reuse it on screens within a project or across
View Designer
projects. Copying a graphic element copies all of its properties, animations, and events. Copy single, multiple, or groups of graphic elements.Prerequisites
- Open the sourceView Designerproject containing the content to copy.
- If the content is to be pasted into another project, for each project, start an instance ofView Designerand open the target project. It is recommended to open no more than three instances ofView Designerat one time.
To copy a graphic element
- On the source screen or in theGraphic Explorer, right-click the graphic element and then selectCopy.
- To select multiple graphic elements or groups, holdCtrland select the items.
- On the target screen, right-click the location to paste the items and then selectPaste.TIP:Tips:
- If the target screen contains a graphic element with the same name, the name of the new graphic element is appended with a number that increments with each copy.
- To cut a graphic element, right-click the graphic element and selectCut.
- When copying a graphic element, any localized data associated with the graphic element is also copied.
