Options dialog box: Compare Engines
How do I open the Options: Compare Engines dialog box?
- SelectTools > Options.
- UnderCategoryon the left side of the dialog box, selectCompare Engines.
Use the
Options: Compare Engines
dialog box to specify the comparison software (compare engine) to use for different file types. Once added, the compare engines are listed below the buttons. All Compare Engines configurations are associated with the FactoryTalk AssetCentre server, so settings configured on one client computer are also applicable to all clients connected to that server. Before performing an archive comparison on a client computer, make sure the compare engine application's full path is configured properly in the
Application
box. The system updates other client computers once a day, so other users may not see your changes immediately. They can force an update by opening this dialog box.
TIP:
Default compare engines such as the Binary compare engine and Logix5000 compare engine are configured using the %ProgramFiles% environmental variable. If the FactoryTalk AssetCentre Client is installed in a non-default folder, such as a drive other than drive C, the Compare Engine path must be browsed manually.
If two users edit a particular compare engine configuration simultaneously, the last (most recent) edit is kept. That is, the changes of the first user to click
OK
are replaced with the second.Provide Feedback
