Copy an asset

You can copy an asset from one location in the asset tree to another so that you have two independent instances of the asset.
Prerequisites
To copy an asset you must have
Switch to Design mode
permission.
You must also have the following permissions for the container into which you want to copy the asset:
  • Create Children
  • Read
  • Write
To copy an asset
  1. If you are not in it, enter Design mode.
  2. Select the asset you want to copy and select
    Edit > Copy
     or press
    Ctrl+C
    .
  3. Select the container into which you want to copy the asset and select
    Edit > Paste
     or press
    Ctrl+V
    .
The asset will now be in two locations in the asset tree. These are two independent assets in the tree. If you rename one of them, or change one's properties, it will only affect the asset changed, not both. It is good practice to rename one of the assets to avoid confusion.
The copy of the asset does not retain the security settings of the original. Rather, the copy inherits the settings from its new parent container.
