FactoryTalk AssetCentre Agent Controller Launch Control Panel

FactoryTalk AssetCentre Agent Controller Launch Control Panel is used to change the agent controller's running mode or repair permissions related to running the agent controller. You can perform the following actions:
  • Start an agent controller, as a service or an application.
  • Stop an agent controller.
  • Switch an agent controller's operational mode between service and application.
    You may need to select
    Stop
before you change the running mode.
  • Repair permissions for the current account that is running the agent controller.
The initial FactoryTalk AssetCentre Agent Controller operational mode depends on decisions made during the FactoryTalk AssetCentre Agent’s installation. If the Siemens, Mitsubishi or Schneider connectors were enabled during installation, then the FactoryTalk AssetCentre Agent Controller
must
run as an application.
IMPORTANT:
  • When operating as an application, the Windows user account selected in the FactoryTalk AssetCentre Agent Controller Launch Control Panel
    must
sign in to the FactoryTalk AssetCentre Agent computer. The Windows desktop can be locked after signing in.
  • In a Windows domain environment, when the FactoryTalk AssetCentre AgentController runs as an application, it is critical to select a standard Windows domain user account. This allows Microsoft Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) to authenticate between the FactoryTalk AssetCentre agent to connect to the FactoryTalk AssetCentre server. If the AgentController is configured to use a local Windows user account, then WCF won’t work correctly and the FactoryTalk AssetCentre agent won’t be able to connect to the server.
The FactoryTalk AssetCentre Agent Controller Launch Control Panel window contains the following:
