Policy Setting (Computer and Computer Group Properties)

How do I open Policy Setting (Computer and Computer Group)?
Expand the
System
folder in the
Explorer
window to locate the computer or computer group whose cache expiration policy you need to modify. Right-click on the computer or computer group and click
Properties
. Click the
Directory Cache
tab.
In
FactoryTalk
, rules for directory cache expiration are managed system-wide in the
Directory Protection Policy Settings
section of
Security Policy Properties
. The
Directory cache expiration
policy setting
defines the number of hours that the information caches for the directory are valid before the connection to the
FactoryTalk Directory
is closed. The
Directory cache expiration warning
policy determines when a warning will be displayed on the computer informing the operator that the computers access to the
FactoryTalk Directory
will be closed.
Directory cache expiration policies can be customized for a specific computer or group of computers. To override the
FactoryTalk
network directory cache expiration policies, set directory cache timeout policies for a computer group or an individual computer. Use the
Directory Cache
tab in
Computer Properties
or
Computer Group Properties
to set these cache expiration policies.
Example: The policies can be configured to allow the group of laptop computers in the group "Laptops" to operate without a network connection for 96 hours, and for the cache to never expire for the laptop named "AdminControl" that is a member of the "Laptops" group.
