Set the syslog policy for a computer

The syslog configurations in
FactoryTalk
are managed system-wide in
System Policies
. Use these configurations to modify:
  • Syslog collector settings
  • Message buffering
  • Message categories
Some circumstances require overriding the default system-wide settings or the computer group settings and specifying the syslog policy for a specific computer. If a computer group has the syslog policy disabled, the syslog policy of computers in the computer group will be disabled and cannot be modified. If a computer group has the syslog policy enabled, you can modify the syslog policy of computers in the computer group as needed. More information about how to set the syslog system policy for a computer group, refer to Set the syslog policy for a computer group.
