Create a Machine Edition application
You can create a
FactoryTalk View ME
application when you start FactoryTalk View Studio
or when FactoryTalk View Studio
is open.To create a Machine Edition application
- IfFactoryTalk View Studiois not started, startFactoryTalk View Studio.
- IfFactoryTalk View Studiois started, from theFilemenu, selectNew Applicationor click theNew Applicationtool. If an application is already open,FactoryTalk View Studioasks you whether to close the application. ClickYes.
- On theNewtab of theNew/Open Machine Edition Applicationdialog box, enter a name for the application in theApplication Namebox.
- (Optional) Enter a description for the application. You can also modify the description in the applicationPropertiesdialog box after the application is created.
- Select a language for the application. You can add more languages in theLanguage Configurationdialog box after the application is created.
- Select a resolution for the application. You can modify the resolution in theProject Settingseditor after the application is created.
- ClickCreate.
FactoryTalk View Studio
creates the application’s folders and files and then shows the new application in the Explorer window. The system automatically creates a display called MAIN
and sets the initial graphic to Main
.By default, the application files are stored in:
\Users\Public\Public Documents\RSView Enterprise\ME\HMI projects\<ApplicationName>
The application file is given the extension .med.
You have the option to customize the location using the HMI Projects Folder Path Config Utility.
To customize the HMI projects folder
- Open the HMI Projects Folder Path Config Utility.TIP:You can find the utility from the Start menu or in C:\Program Files (x86)\Rockwell Software\RSView Enterprise.Make sure that the HMI project is not in use byFactoryTalk View StudioorFactoryTalk View ME Station.
- Specify a new folder to store the HMI projects.
- SelectApply.
- Restart the HMI server computer.
