Multiple version support

You can use the current release of

FactoryTalk View Studio

to create ME runtime application files (*.mer) that will run on previous versions of ME Station. These choices are available in the

Create Runtime Application

dialog box.

Open applications

Opening an application that was created with an earlier version of

FactoryTalk View Studio

or RSView Studio will convert the application to the current version of

FactoryTalk View Studio

. Once the application has been converted, it cannot be opened by earlier versions of

FactoryTalk View Studio

or RSView Studio. However, you still have the option of creating runtime application files that will run on earlier versions of ME Station.

Import applications

When you import earlier version application files,

FactoryTalk View

creates a copy of the application for the current version of

FactoryTalk View

. The earlier version is not altered.

You cannot import applications to

FactoryTalk View Studio

that were created with later versions than the one they are presently running.
