Upgrade firmware using an upgrade card

If you want to upgrade a terminal from an external storage card, use the Firmware Upgrade Wizard to create a firmware upgrade card that can be plugged into the terminal to perform a firmware upgrade.
To upgrade firmware using an upgrade card
  1. Plug a blank Secure Digital (SD) card into your computer.
  2. Open the Firmware Upgrade Wizard.
Use one of the following methods:
    • From Windows
      Start
      menu, select
All apps > Rockwell Software > ME Firmware Upgrade Wizard
      .
    • In
      FactoryTalk View Studio
      , from the
      Tools
      menu, select
      Firmware Upgrade Wizard
      .
  3. Plug this upgrade card into the terminal's card reader.
  4. Press the
    Upgrade
    button.
The terminal is automatically restarted.
When upgrading the firmware on a
PanelView Plus 7
or
PanelView Plus 6
terminal, do not remove the card until you see the following message: "The firmware upgrade has been completed. Remove the Firmware Upgrade Card and then press the
Exit
button." Premature removal of the card will cause the upgrade to fail.
