How do I open the Firmware Upgrade Wizard?
Use one of the following methods:
- From WindowsStartmenu, selectAll apps > Rockwell Software > ME Firmware Upgrade Wizard.
- InFactoryTalk View Studio, from theToolsmenu, selectFirmware Upgrade Wizard.

View Studio evolves over time, new versions of terminal firmware become available. Once you have acquired a new firmware release, use the Firmware Upgrade Wizard to replace the firmware files on your ME terminals.The Firmware Upgrade Wizard allows you to upgrade the firmware in a
PanelView™
Plus 7 Performance Series A, PanelView Plus 7 Standard
, or PanelView Plus 6
terminal from a remote computer, or to put the firmware upgrade onto an external storage card that can be plugged directly into the terminal to complete the upgrade. If you do not have a card available, you can copy the firmware upgrade to a specified location on your computer and transfer them to a card manually later.- To upgrade from a remote computer, the terminal must be connected to aWindowscomputer running the Firmware Upgrade Wizard. The connection can be a network connection usingFactoryTalk® Linx, or, if theFactoryTalk Linxservices are not available, a direct Ethernet or serial connection.IMPORTANT:For remote upgrades, the Firmware Upgrade Wizard requires that the Remote Access Connection Manager be installed and running on the computer running the Firmware Upgrade Wizard. See your Microsoft Windows help for more information on how to set it up.
