Pin files or binders

Follow the steps to pin files or binders.
Prerequisites
  • To pin file or binder versions, you must have
    Pin
    permission.
To pin a version
  1. Select
    View > Archive
    , or click the
    Archive
    button.
  2. In the asset tree, select the asset containing the file or binder to pin, or select the file or binder with the version to pin. If you select an asset, select the file or binder on the
    Archive
    tab.
  3. On the
    Archive
    tab, click the
    History
    tab or the
    Labels
    tab.
  4. At the bottom of the tab, select the version to pin.
  5. Click
    Pin Version
    . (If you don't see the
    Pin Version
    button on the
    History
    tab, increase the size of the
    FactoryTalk AssetCentre
    window.)
  6. In the
    Pin
    dialog box's
    Comments
    box, enter an optional comment explaining why the version is pinned and click
    OK
    . The maximum length for a comment is 2,500 characters.
    Pinned versions are marked on the
    History
    tab with a pushpin icon pushbutton. If you pin a labeled version, that pinned file or binder is also marked on the
    Labels
    tab.
