Create a String Input Enable button

At runtime, the operator can use the
String Input Enable
button to open a string pop-up keyboard or scratchpad. When the operator presses the button, the pop-up opens. The operator can use the pop-up to enter a string value to send to the Value connection at the data source.
To create a String Input Enable button
  1. In the
    Graphics Display
    editor, select
Objects > Numeric and String > String Input Enable
or drag String Input Enable from the toolbox.
  2. Drag the mouse to position and draw a rectangle the general size and location you want the button to be.
  3. Double-click the button to open its
    Properties
    dialog box.
  4. In the
    Properties
dialog box, specify how the button looks, the button’s tags, whether to use the string pop-up keyboard or scratchpad, and whether to use Enter key handshaking.
