Mitsubishi Controller (GX Works3) operation properties for disaster recovery

Following are all possible settings for disaster recovery schedules for Mitsubishi Controller (GX Works3) assets.
These settings are used for two purposes:
  • Specify default disaster recovery schedule settings for Mitsubishi Controller (GX Works3) in
    Tools
    >
    Options
    .
  • Specify the settings of a particular Mitsubishi Controller (GX Works3) asset in an existing schedule on the
    Schedules
tab. Changes to the settings within a schedule override the default settings for that instance.
Unless noted otherwise, each setting applies to backup schedules and backup and compare schedules.
IMPORTANT:
  • Make sure you have installed the Mitsubishi Controller (GX Works3) on the FactoryTalk AssetCentre agent computer.
  • Make sure you have installed the Mitsubishi Open I/F APIs on the FactoryTalk AssetCentre agent computer. If you do not know how to find the Mitsubishi Open I/F APIs, please contact Mitsubishi for support.
  • Make sure that the FactoryTalk AssetCentre Agent Controller is running as an application. For more information, see FactoryTalk AssetCentre Agent Controller Launch Control Panel.
  • Make sure to select a standard Windows domain user account if you are in a Windows domain environment and the FactoryTalk AssetCentre AgentController runs as an application. This allows Microsoft Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) to authenticate between the FactoryTalk AssetCentre agent to connect to the FactoryTalk AssetCentre server. If the AgentController is configured to use a local Windows user account, then WCF won’t work correctly and the FactoryTalk AssetCentre agent won’t be able to connect to the server.
  • Make sure you have disabled the FIPS.
(Backup and compare schedules only) Event Settings
  • Create New Backup Version
    Set to
    Always
to create a backup version even if it is exactly the same as the last compared backup version. This is the default setting.
    Set to
    On Differences Found
to create a backup version only if differences are found. If the existing backup is the same as the information in the controller aside from excluded data blocks, then no backup is saved.
Asset specific properties
  • Compare Common Device Comment
    Set to
    False
to exclude the common device comments from the final compare report.
  • Compare Device Memory
    Set to
    False
to exclude the device memory from the final compare report. The device memory can be different, which is affected by the Clock data during the verification.
  • Compare Parameters
    Set to
    False
to exclude the parameters from the final compare report.
  • Only Report Differences
    Set to
    True
to generate a report that only shows differences when differences are found and the task is completed successfully.
Email notification
You can type email recipients' addresses separated by semicolons (;) or select addresses from the FactoryTalk AssetCentre Address Book. To select addresses from the Address Book, click in the field, and then click browse button. Complete the
Contacts and Groups
dialog box.
An email message will be sent to only one of these lists. For example, if differences are found when a backup and compare schedule runs, an email is sent to those on the
Event Compare Differences Detected
list. No email is sent to those on the
Event Completed
list.
  • (Backup and compare schedules only) Event Compare Differences Detected
The email addresses separated by semicolons (;) to which notification will be sent if the compare finds differences between the specified backup data or configuration data version and the data on the physical device.
  • Event Completed
The email addresses separated by semicolons (;) to which notification will be sent when the operation completes for the asset. If a backup and compare schedule completes without differences, an email is sent to this list. If it completes with differences, an email is sent to the
    Event Compare Differences Detected
    list, not this list.
  • Event Failed
The email addresses separated by semicolons (;) to which notification will be sent when the operation fails.
(Backup and compare schedules only) Attach report to email
  • Event Completed Differences Detected
    This defaults to
    True
to attach a report of differences to the email if the backup and compare schedule finds differences between the specified backup data version and the data on the physical device. Select
    False
to send an email without an attached report.
