Add the configuration file on your computer or on a network drive
You can create the file, folder, or binder asset while editing the
Configuration Data
field.To add the configuration file (file, folder, or binder), if it is on your computer or on a network drive (needs to be added to the asset tree)
- In the left pane, select the device and click theAddbutton.Alternative: Select the container in which the device resides. When a container is selected, theResource to Addlist becomes visible. In theResource to Addlist, selectFile,Folder, orBinderand clickAdd. For Siemens controllers, Generic FTP Devices, and Remote Computers, you must use a binder. For robot devices you must use a folder.
- Another dialog box opens depending on whether you selectedFile,Folder, orBinderin theResource to Addlist.
- For a file, navigate to the file you want to add, click the file, and clickOpen.
- For a folder, navigate to the folder you want to add, click the folder, and clickOK.
- For a binder, fill out theAdd Binderdialog box and then clickOK.TIP:For Allen-Bradley PowerFlex Drive assets, after you fill out theAdd Binderdialog box and clickOK, FactoryTalk AssetCentre automatically checks for the available *.idf files in the binder and adds the names of available devices into theDevicefield of theConfiguration Data Browserdialog box.
- In the right pane of theConfiguration Data Browserdialog box, select the file, folder, or binder to be the configuration data for the device. All items listed in the right pane will be added to the asset tree, but only the selected item will be assigned as Configuration Data for the device. You can pressDeleteto remove any unwanted items from the right pane.
- For Siemens S7 Controllers (STEP7) onlySelect the S7 program to use for disaster recovery operations. More than one S7 program may be included in the binder. However, only one S7 project can be included in the binder. You will not be able to select a program if more than one project is in the binder.
- If theProgram Refreshbutton is available, click it. This updates the binder with any program changes.
- In theProgramlist, select the program file to use.
- ClickOK.
