Set binder key file for Siemens S7 Controllers (STEP7) to use file associations
Use the
Options: File Associations
dialog box to have a designated software
product open file with a specific extension. For Siemens S7 Controllers (STEP7),
FactoryTalk AssetCentre uses a binder to store configuration files. When using file
associations for a Siemens S7 program file, a key filemust be set correctly for the
binder so that the software program associated with that file type can open that key
file for the binder. For Siemens S7 program files, FactoryTalkAssetCentre includes a tool thatfinds and opens
the editing software for S7P files. This tool comesset up in the
File
Associations
dialog box, so there is no need to set file associations for these
file types. For other type of program files to use file associations, you also need to make sure that
a key file is set correctly for the binder. Associating a file type with a program must
also be set in
