Check in files and binders
When you have finished editing a checked-out file or binder, check it back into the Archive database. Checking in a file or binder saves a new version so that changes are backed up and protected in the Archive database. When you are working on a file or binder over a long period of time, it is good practice to check in the file or binder daily.
Prerequisites
- To check in files or binders, you must haveCheckOut - CheckInpermission.If theCheckIn does not require MoC workflowpermission is denied, you must submit the check-in request and get the approval from configured workflow approvers.
- To check in a file or binder someone else has checked out, you must haveOverride Archive Check Inpermission.
To check in files, folders, or binders manually
- SelectView > Archive, or click theArchivebutton.
- In the asset tree, select the file, binder, or the asset containing the files to check in.
- Click theCheck Inbutton.If theCheckIn does not require MoC workflowpermission is denied, you must submit the check-in request and get the approval from configured workflow approvers.TIP:You can also right-click the asset, file, or binder in the asset tree (or a file or binder on theArchivetab if you select an asset in the asset tree) and selectCheck In.
- Complete theCheck indialog box.
- ClickOK. The check mark is removed from the item on theArchivetab. The check-in action, as well as the date and time the item is checked in, appears on theHistorytab.
