Check in files and binders

When you have finished editing a checked-out file or binder, check it back into the Archive database. Checking in a file or binder saves a new version so that changes are backed up and protected in the Archive database. When you are working on a file or binder over a long period of time, it is good practice to check in the file or binder daily.
Prerequisites
  • To check in files or binders, you must have
    CheckOut - CheckIn
    permission.
    If the
CheckIn does not require MoC workflow
permission is denied, you must submit the check-in request and get the approval from configured workflow approvers.
  • To check in a file or binder someone else has checked out, you must have
    Override Archive Check In
    permission.
To check in files, folders, or binders manually
  1. Select
    View > Archive
    , or click the
    Archive
    button.
  2. In the asset tree, select the file, binder, or the asset containing the files to check in.
  3. Click the
    Check In
    button.
    If the
CheckIn does not require MoC workflow
permission is denied, you must submit the check-in request and get the approval from configured workflow approvers.
    TIP:
You can also right-click the asset, file, or binder in the asset tree (or a file or binder on the
    Archive
tab if you select an asset in the asset tree) and select
    Check In
    .
  4. Complete the
    Check in
    dialog box.
  5. Click
    OK
. The check mark is removed from the item on the
    Archive
tab. The check-in action, as well as the date and time the item is checked in, appears on the
    History
    tab.
