Date and time settings
When you check out or get a file or binder from the Archive database and place it in your current working folder, Archive tracks the date and time associated with the file. Dates and times are recorded using the server's clock and are shown using the client's local time zone.
Following are the rules FactoryTalk AssetCentre uses for recording date and time settings:
- If you have a local copy of the file or binder and that file or binder is identical to the one you are retrieving, nothing happens. In this case the file or binder's time stamp remains unchanged.
- If you retrieve a file or binder from the Archive database and it differs from a file or binder of the same name in your current working directory, or if you are retrieving the file or binder for the first time, the local file or binder is stamped with the date the file or binder is retrieved. Archive uses the time on the FactoryTalk AssetCentre client computer.
