About graphic libraries

There are two graphic libraries that are available, Symbol Factory and Graphics Library. Symbol Factory is a third party add-on graphics library. Graphics Library provides a number of ready-made graphic displays and objects.
By using these objects, you can easily create or edit your graphic displays. You can also create new components or add existing graphics to the Graphics Library.
Multiple language support in graphic libraries
Graphic libraries that are shipped with FactoryTalk View are not set up to support multiple languages. The text strings in these libraries are displayed in the language they were when shipped, regardless of the current application language. They will not be displayed as
undefined
, which replaces a string with a single question mark (?).
If you turn on support for multiple language for a graphic library that has been shipped with FactoryTalk View, only those strings in the library that are in the current application language will be displayed correctly. Strings in any other language will be displayed as
undefined
.
When you create a new graphic library display, support for multiple languages is turned on by default. If you copy objects from graphic displays that support multiple languages, whatever language strings were associated with the object in the original display, will be copied and saved with the object, as long as the library has support for multiple languages turned on.
TIP:
If you copy an object from a graphic library that supports multiple languages, into a graphic display, only strings using a language that is supported by the application are copied. Any strings using a language that has not been added to the application, are not copied.
If you copy an entire graphic library that supports multiple languages, into the Displays folder, all text strings are copied with the library.
