policies and system settings allow you to configure alarm web services, system-wide alarm priority, and severity behaviors of controller status alarms and tracking events. These system-wide priority or severity settings are in effect unless a priority or severity has been set for an alarm on an individual basis.

Alarm severity is a value that indicates the critical importance of an alarm. Alarm priorities group and simplify severity values into four easily recognized ranges: Urgent, High, Medium, and Low.
