Configure alarm mail rules

With the SMTP policy configured, you can configure the alarm mail rules. These rules use priority and scope as criteria for email notifications about active alarms within an application. When these alarms are triggered, email notifications containing the alarm details are sent to the designated recipients.
TIP: Alarm emails use the default language of the application.
Prerequisites
Configure the SMTP policy in
System > Policies > System Policies
.
To configure alarm mail rules
  1. In FactoryTalk Administration Console or FactoryTalk View Studio
    Explorer
    , right-click an application, and then select
    Alarm Email Notification
    .
  2. In the
    Email Rules
    pane, add a rule by clicking the plus sign or
    Add an email rule
    if no rules exist.
  3. Name the rule, add an optional description, and then click
    OK
    .
  4. Under
    CONDITION
    , specify the alarm priority and scope as criteria for email notifications.
  5. Under
    RECIPIENTS
    , enter the emails of recipients.
  6. Click
    OK
    .
