Define system-wide severity settings

Use the
Policy Settings
 tab in the
Severity Settings Properties
 dialog box to specify:
  • Severity settings that apply to controller status alarms generated by
    FactoryTalk Linx
    .
  • Tracking events that are logged as audit messages when an operator interacts with an alarm.
To change severity settings for individual alarms, use the
Logix Designer
 application for device-based alarms, the Alarm and Event Setup editor on the Tag Alarm and Event server for tag-based alarms, or the
FactoryTalk Linx
 OPC UA Connector for OPC UA alarms.
To define system-wide severity settings
  1. Open
    FactoryTalk Administration Console
     or
    FactoryTalk View Studio
    .
  2. In the
    FactoryTalk
     Explorer window, expand
    System > Policies > System Policies >
    FactoryTalk Alarms and Events
    .
  3. Double-click
    Severity Settings
    .
  4. Define system-wide severity settings as needed.
  5. When you are finished making changes, click
    OK
     to close the dialog box.
