User Group Properties
How do I open User Group
Properties?
- In theExplorerwindow, expand theFactoryTalknetwork or local directory tree, and then expand theSystemfolder until the user group account you want to modify is visible.
- Right-click the user group account, and then clickProperties.
For a
FactoryTalk
user group account, use User Group Properties
to
edit
the name, description, and email account associated with the user group account,
and to add or remove users from the group.For a
Windows
-linked user group and an LDAP-linked user group, these
properties are viewable. Use Change Domain
to link this user group account
to a different Windows
domain. Setting | Description |
---|---|
Name | Type a name for the user group. |
Description | (optional) Enter information about the group, such as the group location, relevant parts of the system to the group, or contact information. |
E-mail | (optional) Type one email address or group address, (for example
cjenkins@yourcompany.com or maintenance@yourcompany.com ), to
associate with this account. |
Members | Lists the current members of the group. Add or remove members from this list in a
FactoryTalk user group account. To change the membership of a
Windows -linked user group, use Windows . |
Add | Select Add to select users or groups to add to the user group account. |
Remove | Select Remove to select users or groups to remove from the user group account. |
Change Domain | Visible only in a Windows -linked user account. Select
Change Domain to move the Windows -linked user group to
a different domain. |
Changes to a user's group memberships take effect when the user logs off
FactoryTalk
and then logs on again. Provide Feedback
