Device Wall-clock Update action

The Device Wall-clock Update action synchronizes the clock time of connected devices with the server for coordinated operations and precise event logging. The action addresses communication latency between the server and devices by measuring network latency and adjusting transmitted time accordingly. It operates during the design and runtime phases.
IMPORTANT:
The wall-clock is used for motion and drive control by the Logix controller. Changing the wall-clock can affect motion control accuracy. For Logix controllers used in motion or drive control applications, update the wall-clock during motion pauses.
TIP:
To use the
Device Wall-clock Update
action, you must install
FactoryTalk® Linx
version 6.30.00 or later.
FactoryTalk Action Manager

TIP:
  • FactoryTalk Action Manager
supports the following PLC-5 controllers only:
    • Series E, revision D.1 and later
    • Series D, revision E.1 and later
    • Series C, revision N.1 and later
    • All Series F
  • For SLC 500 controllers, only the SLC 5/05 model is supported.
  • Controllers must be connected directly over Ethernet. Legacy networks, such as DH, DH+, RIO, and DeviceNet, are not supported.
  • The advanced daylight saving time (DST) settings must be configured for controllers using UTC.
For more information, see Daylight saving time and Time zone.
