Advanced Settings dialog box
The following table describes the settings in the
Advanced Settings
dialog box and their meanings.Item | Description |

Devices updated simultaneously | Defines how many devices to be handled at the same time, if any device is finished, it will start updating the next device. |
Communications message timeout | Defines the amount of time that FactoryTalk Action Manager will wait for a
device to respond. If the duration is exceeded, FactoryTalk Action Manager
will retry for the number of times defined by Device CIP message retry
quantity , then log an error message and move to the next device in this
action. |
Delay between devices | When a device is updated, the service will delay this time and then get another device to update, to avoid taking too much network bandwidth. |
Device CIP message retry quantity | For each CIP request, if fails, it will retry the CIP request the number with no delay, if all fails, the devices update will be failed. |
Device update attempt quantity | If the device fails, it will delay and then re-attempt to update the device update the number of times defined by this setting. |
Action maximum time | The longest amount of time the action will be permitted to run. When this duration is reached, the action execution will be halted. |
Action restart device | Defines which device in the list to restart if the last running fails.

Enable communications delay compensation | Enables the communications delay compensation. This improves accuracy by causing the time sent to each controller to be adjusted to accommodate communications latency. |
Daylight saving time | Defines the settings of daylight saving time, including:
For more information, see Daylight saving time and Time zone. Tip: This setting is only available for CompactLogix , ControlLogix , FlexLogix , and PlantPAx
controllers. |
Time zone | Defines the time zone this action uses. For CompactLogix , ControlLogix , FlexLogix , and PlantPAx
controllers, FactoryTalk Action Manager will set this time zone to
controllers. For SLC and PLC controllers, FactoryTalk Action Manager will
calculate the time zone and adjust the time sent to the controller.For more information, see Daylight saving time and Time zone. Tip: Some earlier revisions of 1756-L63 do not support time zone. |
Time offset | Defines the time offset between the device wall-clock and the server computer wall-clock. The positive number means the device wall-clock is earlier than the server computer wall-clock and the negative number means the opposite. For example, the value of Time offset is 1 means the device wall-clock is one hour earlier than the server computer wall-clock. At the same time, Wall-Clock Difference in the Device Status dialog box shows -0D T01:00:00.000. |
