Folders and shortcuts in the
Navigation Menu
folder of the Project Explorer
to which you are granted security access appear in the Navigation menu
on the HMI device. 
Item | Description |
![]() | The main row of the Navigation menu contains the Home screen for the project and any folders and shortcuts placed at the root level of the Navigation Menu folder in the Project Explorer . Tapping the Home item opens the initial screen on the HMI device when the HMI device restarts. By default, this main row also includes AlarmSummary , AlarmManager , Alarm History and Settings items. These items appear in the Predefined Screens folder of the Project Explorer . These items open tables to view and manage alarms, and a screen to configure settings for the HMI device. |
![]() | Tapping a folder shows the contents of the folder in an upper row of the Navigation menu . The upper row appears blank for empty folders. The open item is highlighted. To open an item, tap it, or on an external keyboard, tab to the item and press Enter . Carets appear around an item to which you tab. An upper row does not appear when a folder in the bottom row of the Navigation menu is not selected. |

![]() | The current folder path, in the form of breadcrumbs, appears in an upper row of the Navigation menu . |
![]() | The number of items in the Navigation menu depends on the width of the HMI device. When there are more items than can appear in the Navigation menu , arrows appear at either end of the Navigation menu . The Next arrow pointing right appears after the number of menu items surpasses the width of the Navigation menu . The Previous arrow pointing left appears when the first page of items is no longer in view. Use the arrows to scroll to additional pages of menu items. |
