Omit an item from the Navigation menu

By default, all shortcuts and folders in the
Navigation Menu
 folder of the
Project Explorer
 are represented as items in the
Navigation menu
 on the HMI device.
Omit any item from the
Navigation menu
 on the HMI device by deleting it from the
Navigation Menu
 folder. Do this if a screen in a project depicts a line in your system that is no longer in production. Deleting the shortcut designated as the
Home
screen for a project is not allowed. You cannot delete the shortcut with the
Home
icon Designer Home iconfrom the
Navigation Menu
 folder.
Prerequisites
  • To delete a shortcut designated as the
    Home
    screen of the project, designate a new shortcut as the
    Home
    screen.
To omit an item from the Navigation menu
  1. In the
    Project Explorer
    , expand the
    Navigation Menu
    folder.
  2. Right-click the shortcut and select
    Delete
    . The shortcut no longer appears in the
    Navigation Menu
    folder or the
    Navigation menu
     on the HMI device.
    TIP:
    Have an item not appear in the
    Navigation menu
    by restricting access to the item. Only items to which the assigned user role has access appear in the
    Navigation menu
     on the HMI device.
