Select an icon for a shortcut in the Navigation menu
An icon represents each screen in the
Navigation menu
on the HMI device. The default icon is the standard Screen
icon supplied by Studio 5000
View Designer
. Change the icon to a snapshot of the screen or use another graphic as the icon.To select an icon for a shortcut in the Navigation menu
- In theProject Explorer, expand theNavigation Menufolder and select the shortcut.The properties for the shortcut appear on thePropertiestab. Opening the shortcut also displays the properties of the shortcut. For example, open a screen and click a blank portion of the screen. The properties of the open screen appear on thePropertiestab.
- In thePropertieswindow, expand theNavigation Menucategory.
- In theIconlist, select an option:
- Screen Snapshot.Displays a snapshot of the shortcut's defining screen in theNavigation menu.In theScreen Snapshotbox, select the graphic of the snapshot. Select the snapshot only if you have the screen open inView Designer. If the screen is not open, "Screen is not loaded" appears. To update the picture in theNavigation menuafter changing the appearance of the screen, select the snapshot graphic again.
- Predefined icon.Displays an icon for the screen in theNavigation menu. In thePredefined Iconsbox, select the desired icon.
- Folder.Displays an image from the hard drive for the screen in theNavigation menu. In theFolderbox, select the desired image. To select an image in a location other than the defaultPicturesfolder, browse to select the desired image. Select any .BMP, .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, or .TIF image from the hard drive for an item in theNavigation menu. An .SVG image is not a valid format for the icon of a shortcut.The selected image appears in theIconbox.TIP:Tips:
- All items in theNavigation menuon the HMI device appear white when unselected and blue when selected. To view both the selected and unselected versions of the icon to appear in theNavigation menu, in thePropertieswindow, mouse over the selection in theIconbox.
- The icon assigned to an item from thePropertiestab appears in theNavigation menuon the HMI device.
- The icon that appears next to the item in theProject Explorerindicates the type of item -- screen, shortcut, folder, or theHomescreen.
