To start an application automatically when a
MobileView
terminal or a personal computer starts

    Startup
    folder.
The default folders of the path to the MERuntime.exe file is
    C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Rockwell Software\
    FactoryTalk View
    .
    The Windows
    Startup
    folder is
    C:\Users\<logged in user name>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
    .
    TIP:
If you copied the path to the MERuntime.exe file to the Windows
    Startup

    FactoryTalk View ME Station
, delete the file in the Windows Startup folder.
  2. In the
    Startup
    folder, right-click
    FactoryTalk View ME Station
    and select
    Properties
    .
  3. On the
    Shortcut
    tab, in the
    Target
box, after the existing text, type a space, the path to the .mer file, and one or more parameters.
For example, to start FactoryTalk View ME Station and open an application called
    Malthouse
    , type
    "C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\RSView Enterprise\ME\Runtime\malthouse.mer" /r /d /o
  4. Click
    OK
    .
In the future, whenever the
MobileView
terminal or the personal computer starts,
FactoryTalk View ME
Station will start automatically, delete the applications log files, overwrite the terminal's communications file, and run the application.
If you do not want to delete the log files, omit the
/d
parameter.
If you do not want to overwrite the communications file, omit the
/o
parameter.
To give the user the choice of overwriting the communications file, use the
/a
parameter instead of the
/o
parameter.
