Start an application automatically by setting up the startup options
You can set up
FactoryTalk View ME Station
to start and run an application automatically whenever a terminal or personal computer starts.To start an application automatically whenever a terminal or personal computer starts
- In thedialog box, load an application.FactoryTalk View ME Station
- ClickTerminal Settingsand select:
- Startup Options > FactoryTalk View ME Station Startupon aPanelView Plus 7,PanelView Plus 6,PanelView Plus,PanelView Plus Compact, orPanelView Plus CEterminal
- FactoryTalk View ME Station Startupon aMobileViewterminal or a personal computer
- In theStartup Settingsdialog box, clickEdit.
- Select theRun Current Applicationoption and clickRun Options.
- If you want to overwrite the terminal's communications file, selectYesforReplace RSLinx CommunicationsorReplace.FactoryTalk LinxCommunications
- If you want to delete the log files, selectYesforDelete Log Files on Every Power Cycleand clickOK.
- ClickOKto close theFactoryTalk View ME Station Startupdialog box.
- ClickCloseto close theStartup Settingsdialog box.
- ClickCloseto close theTerminal Settingsdialog box.
- On aPanelView Plus 7,PanelView Plus 6,PanelView Plus,PanelView Plus Compact, orPanelView Plus CEterminal, clickResetand confirm the changes.
In the future, whenever the terminal or personal computer starts,
FactoryTalk View ME Station
will start automatically, delete the application's log files, overwrite the terminal's communications file, and run the application.
TIP:
PanelView Plus 7 Standard terminals and PanelView Plus 6 Compact terminals can only load and run PanelView Plus 7 Standard applications or Compact Machine Edition applications. If you try to start a non-Compact application or a PanelView Plus 7 Performance application on a PanelView Plus 7 Standard terminal or a PanelView Plus 6 Compact terminal, an error message will appear and the application will not be loaded.
If your application uses a shared network folder to store data log files, you will have to log onto a network when the application starts. To run the application automatically, you must store the network logon data in the terminal's permanent storage.
