Create a Key button
At runtime, the operator can use
Key
buttons to move the cursor and make selections on certain objects. You can use Key
buttons with these graphic objects:- Alarm list
- Control list selector
- Display list selector
- Trend
- Audit trail list
These are the types of
Key
buttons:- Move Left
moves to the left.
- Move Right
moves to the right.
- Move Up
moves up one item in the list.
- Move Down
moves down one item in the list.
- Page Up
moves up one page in the list.
- Page Down
moves down one page in the list.
- Home
moves to the top of the page that’s currently shown.
- End
moves to the bottom of the page that’s currently shown.
- Backspace
moves back to the previously highlighted item.
- Enter
selects the currently highlighted item.
You can configure different combinations of
Key
buttons for different objects. For example, trend objects recognize only Home
, End
and the four Move
keys.Backspace works with the control list selector. If a
Numeric Input Cursor Point
is selected, the Backspace
or Enter
key, when clicked or pressed, opens the keypad. To see which objects on your display work with a particular button, open the button's Properties
dialog box or Property Panel
and click the Object Browser
in the Linked object
property.Add and configure each
Key
button separately.To create a Key button
- In theGraphics Displayeditor, selectObjects > Keyand then the type of button, or drag the object from the toolbox.
- Drag the mouse to position and draw a rectangle the general size and location you want the button to be.
- Double-click the button to open itsPropertiesdialog box.
- In thePropertiesdialog box, specify the how the button looks, the caption or image to use on the button, and auto repeat.TIP:You can set up auto repeat forMove Up/Down/Left/Right,Page Up, andPage Down keybuttons. Set up auto repeat on theTimingtab.
