How do I open ME Transfer Utility?
On the development computer, do one of the following:
  • From Windows
    Start
    menu, select
    All apps > Rockwell Software > ME Transfer Utility
    .
  • In
    FactoryTalk View Studio
    , from the
    Tools
    menu, select
    Transfer Utility
    .
  • In
    FactoryTalk View Studio
    , on the toolbar, click Transfer utility.
Use ME Transfer Utility to:
  • Transfer a runtime application file (.mer) to and from the
    MobileView
    ,
    PanelView
    Plus 7,
    PanelView Plus 6
    ,
    PanelView Plus
    ,
    PanelView Plus Compact
    , or
    PanelView Plus CE
    terminal where the application runs
  • Specify that the downloaded .mer file will run automatically after the download is completed and whenever the
    MobileView
    ,
    PanelView Plus 7
    ,
    PanelView Plus 6
    ,
    PanelView Plus
    ,
    PanelView Plus Compact
    , or
    PanelView Plus CE
    terminal is restarted
  • Transfer Windows True Type font files (.ttf and .ttc) to a

  • Compare a runtime application on a
    MobileView

    terminal with a runtime application on a desktop computer
  • Download:
    • Multiple applications (one at a time) to the same terminal
    • Applications while another application is running on the terminal
    • A new copy of the application, which is running on the terminal, and use the new application next time when you run the application on the terminal
ME Transfer Utility uses the
FactoryTalk® Linx
Communication tree to specify the upload or download source and destination. You must use an
FactoryTalk Linx
driver for the download.
