About the Toolbar
This topic discusses the main toolbar of FactoryTalk AssetCentre. Other areas of the software have their own toolbars as well (the Asset View, the Schedules tab, and other tabs in the Workspace Pane). These other toolbar buttons are discussed in the help for those sections of the software.
If any toolbar in FactoryTalk AssetCentre is cut off because the display is too narrow, an overflow button
appears on the right side of the toolbar. Click this button to show the hidden toolbar buttons.

Button | Description |

New | Adds a new asset, search, schedule, or Address Book contact depending on what is selected and has focus in the rest of the window. This button is unavailable if nothing can be added (for example, if the Asset View has focus, but is not in Design mode.). |
Save | Available only when information (such as a schedule or search) has been edited, but not yet saved. |
Print | Available only when viewing a log. Prints the selected records or all records listed. |
Cut | Combined with the Paste button, the Cut button moves an asset from one location in the tree to another. Select the asset, then click the Cut button. Click on the container in which you want to place the asset, then click the Paste button. The asset that was cut does not disappear from its original location until it is pasted in the new location. |
Copy | Combined with the Paste button, the Copy button duplicates an asset in the tree. First select the asset and click the Copy button. Next select the container in which you want to place the asset, then click the Paste button. |
Paste | Combined with the Cut (or Copy ) button, the Paste button moves (or copies) an asset from one location in the tree to another. Select the asset, then click the Cut (or Copy ) button. Click on the container in which you want to place the asset, then click the Paste button. |
Delete | Deletes the selected asset (if in Design mode), search, schedule, or Address Book contact. This has the same function as the Delete button on the Asset View toolbar, Search toolbar, Schedules toolbar, and Address Book toolbar. |
![]() | Opens the Asset View if it has been closed or shifts the focus to the Asset View if it is open. |
Opens the Agent Groups tab on which you can manage the agents into groups. If the tab is open, it brings the Agent Groups tab to the front. | |

![]() | Opens the Assets Lifecycle tab on which you can synchronize lifecycle information in the FactoryTalk AssetCentre server and client with the data on the Rockwell Automation lifecycle website, or refresh lifecycle information in the AssetCentre client with the AssetCentre server. |
![]() | Opens the Logs tab for viewing the Event Log, Audit Log, or Diagnostics and Health Log. If the tab is open, it brings the Logs tab to the front. |
![]() | Opens the Schedules tab for scheduling activities. If the tab is open, it brings the Schedules tab to the front. |
![]() | Opens the Searches tab on which you can search the logs or the Archive history. If the tab is open, it brings the Searches tab to the front. |
Properties | Shows the properties of the selected item: an asset in the Asset View or a contact in the Address Book for example. For an asset, you can only edit the properties if the Asset View is in Design mode. |
Show Help | Shows the online help related to the part of the software you are currently using. |
