ABB Robot operation properties for disaster recovery

Following are all possible settings for disaster recovery schedules for ABB robot assets.
These settings are used for two purposes:
  • Specify default disaster recovery schedule settings for ABB robots in
    Tools > Options
    .
  • Specify the settings of a particular ABB robot asset in an existing schedule on the
    Schedules
tab. Changes to the settings within a schedule override the default settings for that instance.
Unless noted otherwise, each setting applies to backup schedules and backup and compare schedules.
Event Settings
  • Master File Path Name
(Only available when editing an existing schedule, not when setting defaults.) This field shows the folder containing the master files to be used in disaster recovery operations. Files are kept in archive where several versions of the same file may be stored. Disaster recovery operations use the pinned version of the files in this folder or, if no version has been pinned, the most recent version of the files in this folder. This folder is specified in the
    Configuration Data
    field of the robot's properties.
For other device types, you can use this field to specify another version for the master file. Because robots use a folder rather than an individual file as the master, you cannot use this field to select a particular version. Folders do not support pinning and versions. If you click the field, and then click browse_button_small, the message
No version or label information is available for folders
    will appear.
  • (Backup and compare schedules only) Promote New Upload to Master
    This defaults to
    False
    . If set to
    True
, when differences are detected, this uploads the current file from the physical asset to
    Archive
and makes that version the master file for the asset.
Asset-specific properties
  • File Configuration
Click browse_button_small in this field to specify the files and file types that you want to upload or compare. When editing a specific schedule, you do not need to specify files here if you set a default file configuration for this type of device through
    Tools > Options
. Changes made in the schedule will override defaults set through
    Tools > Options
    .
Email notification
The schedule must be inactive to change email addresses, that is, the
Active
check box must be cleared.
To select addresses from the FactoryTalk AssetCentre Address Book rather than typing, click the field, and then click browse_button_small. Complete the
Contacts and Groups
dialog box.
An email message will be sent to only one of these lists. For example, if differences are found when a backup and compare schedule runs, an email is sent to those on the
Event Compare Differences Detected
list. No email is sent to those on the
Event Completed
list.
  • (Backup and compare schedules only) Event Compare Differences Detected
The email addresses to which notification will be sent if the compare finds differences between the master file for the asset stored in the FactoryTalk AssetCentre Archive and the configuration of the physical asset.
  • Event Completed
The email addresses to which notification will be sent when the operation completes for the asset. If a backup and compare schedule completes without differences, an email is sent to this list. If it completes with differences, an email is sent to the
    Event Compare Differences Detected
    list, not this list.
  • Event Failed
The email addresses to which notification will be sent when the operation fails.
(Backup and compare schedules only) Attach report to email
  • Event Compare Differences Detected
    This defaults to
    False
    . Select
    True
to attach a report of differences to the email if the backup and compare schedules finds differences between the asset's master file stored in the FactoryTalk AssetCentre Archive and the configuration of the physical asset.
  • Event Completed
    This defaults to
    False
    . Select
    True
to attach a report to the email regarding whether or not the backup and compare event completed successfully.
