Meanings of the Diagnostics and Health Log column headings
The Diagnostics and Health Log reports the problem and logs the information about automation devices. New log records appear bold. Once you select a log record to show its details in the
Log Item Details
pane at the bottom of the tab, the log entry no long appears bold.The column headings of the Diagnostics and Health Log include:
- Paper clip icon
Whether a file is associated with the message. A file attached to the Diagnostics and Health Log can include information such as the condition of a device. The file can also include troubleshooting information. A paper clip indicates that a file is available. If a file is available for a selected record, a paper clip button also appears in theLog Item Detailspane at the bottom of the log. You can show file attachments and troubleshooting information. - Logged TimeThe date and time when the FactoryTalk AssetCentre database received the message from the software product.The Logged Time and Occurred Time may be different if you disconnect from the network while FactoryTalk AssetCentre caches data, or if the time on the server is different than the time on your computer.
- Occurred TimeThe date and time at which the software product records the message as having originated.The Logged Time and Occurred Time may be different if you disconnect from the network while FactoryTalk AssetCentre caches data, or if the time on the server is different than the time on your computer.
- SourceThe software product that generated the message.
- LocationThe computer name from which the message originated.
- ResourceThe name of the hardware or software object that is the subject of the message. For example, the name of an Allen-Bradley PLC-5 controller or photo eye.
- UsernameThe login ID of the user logged on to the computer (specified in theLocationcolumn) when the message was generated.
- SeverityA symbol indicating the device's status:
Warning. The device has not failed, but there is danger of a malfunction if not attended to.
Error. An error occurred. This usually indicates that the device has actually failed.
Information. The message contains information about the device's health, but no danger of impaired function is imminent.
- MessageDetailed information about the device's condition, what changes were made, hardware involved and so forth. For example, in the case of a photo eye, the message may indicate that a sensing device error was detected. The message attachment may lead to information stating that the signal was degraded and the photo eye may need cleaning. A summary of the message appears in the record list. The full message appears in theLog Item Detailspane.
- Health IndexDepending on the device and the publishing software product, this field may contain a numeric health index. For example, a scale of 1-10 may be used to describe the level of viscosity of lubricant. The meaning of these numbers is determined by the reporting software product.
- Current StatusWhether action has been or should be taken regarding the diagnostics and health message. The system defaults each record's status toNot Set. You can change the status of a Diagnostics and Health Log record by double-clicking the log record or clicking
in the Log Item Detailspane at the bottom of the tab.TIP:ADDA logs are not editable.
