Get started with FactoryTalk AssetCentre
This Quick Start series will guide you through the steps needed to begin using FactoryTalk AssetCentre. An overview of the process is provided below.
This Quick Start assumes that you have installed FactoryTalk AssetCentre according to the instructions in the

.Steps 1-4: Configure the system

, so this part of the process may be completed. To configure the system:- Step 1: Add users to the FactoryTalk Directory
- Step 2: Add client computers to the system
- Step 3: Configure security for FactoryTalk AssetCentre
- Step 4: Add contacts to the FactoryTalk AssetCentre Address Book
Steps 5-7: Set up the asset tree
The asset tree is a representation of your plant including all the assets (anything from a device to a program to a procedure document) that you want to control, back up, or monitor. Everything that you do in FactoryTalk AssetCentre begins with an asset. To set up your asset tree:

Step 8: Set up Disaster Recovery schedules
FactoryTalk AssetCentre allows you to create schedules to run Disaster Recovery operations. The Disaster Recovery capability ensures quick and accurate file recovery by verifying your devices' program and configuration files against protected master files. The results (whether or not the operation completed successfully) can be sent to desired recipients by email. To set up Disaster Recovery schedules:
