About the top pane if a container, folder, or device is selected

The following information is shown only if a container, folder, or device is selected in the asset tree. This information does not appear if a file, binder, or link is selected in the asset tree.
A link to the asset selected in the asset tree appears below the toolbar on the
Archive
tab. If the shown link is to a device and the device has a working folder, click the link to have the associated software program open the file. If you do not have a local copy of the file in your working folder, you are prompted to get a read-only version of the file or check out the file. If the shown link is to a folder or an asset that contains other assets (such as a generic container), click the link to show the contents of the working folder in Windows Explorer.
  • Description
An optional description of the asset (for example, East conveyor of bottling plant).
  • Working folder
The location on your hard drive where you place editable versions of the asset's files so that you can modify them. (These fields don't appear if you have a binder, file or link selected.)
  • Set
Click to set the working folder for the asset's files.
  • Column headings
You can sort the following data by clicking a column heading. The sort order toggles between ascending and descending order. To change the width of a column, position the pointer on the edge of a column heading and drag the cross-bar shape.
    • Name
The name of a file contained in the asset. If the file is pinned, a pushpin icon appears next to the file.
    • User
The login ID of the user who checked out the file. No user name appears if the file is checked in.
    • Check Out Location
The location of the working folder where the user has the file checked out.
