Entitlements

Entitlements grant access to different sets of
FactoryTalk Design Studio
functionality. Entitlements are a pool of seats that users consume. User seats are not assigned but are active when in use. Entitlements:
  • Use Basic and Core tiers to offer user seats. When you first log into
    FactoryTalk Design Studio
, you are assigned the highest tier seat available.
  • Operate on a first-come, first-served basis for user seats per organization
  • Are managed in
    FactoryTalk Hub
. See View Entitlements for more information about managing entitlements in
    FactoryTalk Hub
    .
There are two locations in
FactoryTalk Design Studio
to confirm your entitlement type:
  • Welcome
    page:
    Entitlement type-Welcome page
  • FactoryTalk Design Studio banner
as part of the FactoryTalk Hub organization name:
    Entitlement type - Explorer banner
    When you launch
    FactoryTalk Design Studio
, the number of available entitlements appears:
    Entitlement seats available
    TIP: Log out of
    FactoryTalk Design Studio
to free up an entitlement seat. Closing the browser without first logging out does not free up the entitlement. The entitlement remains assigned to you for 15 minutes.
FactoryTalk Design Studio does not launch if:
  • An entitlement is expired. Access to
    FactoryTalk Design Studio
becomes unavailable until the organization obtains an updated entitlement allocation.
  • No entitlement seats are available. When you try to launch
    FactoryTalk Design Studio
, information on the workspace provisioning window about unavailable entitlement seats appears:
    No entitlement seats available
