About display keys

A display key is a key or key sequence that is associated with a graphic display and has had its usual action redefined by assigning a command or macro to it. It can have separate press, repeat, and release actions. To see the list of keys that can be used as display keys, click the down arrow beside the Key field in the
Add Key
dialog box.
At runtime, or in Test Display mode at design time, click the left mouse button when the cursor is over the object to view the list of display and object keys defined for it. The display keys are defined on the individual display and show up on the key list for all objects in that display.
The order of precedence for keys is object key, display key, and then client key. If a key or key sequence has more than one action defined for it, for example it has an object key action and a display key action assigned to it, the object key action takes precedence. This means that object key action will be performed but the display key action will not.
TIP:
Display key actions and object key actions both take precedence over client key actions.
Display keys always take precedence over FactoryTalk View reserved keys.
